Description: Between Dawson City, Yukon Territory and Tok, Alaska runs the Top of the World Highway with the farthest north U.S.-Canada customs station. Somewhere in the middle is Chicken, named so in 1902 because residents couldn’t agree on how to spell “ptarmigan” (a.k.a. “spruce chicken”).
